Thank You, Sugar Movie

Every blended family has its issues, and the Johnsons are forced to face theirs when the COVID-19 pandemic hits their doorstep—literally. When Tara’s mother, Teresa, tests positive for the virus, Tara brings her mother home to nurse her, unspoken truths come to light in a way they never imagined. This intimate story highlights how American households have grappled with the COVID-19 pandemic, the struggle that ensues when it hits home, and how God chooses to speak in the midst of a difficult situation.

Take A Look At Our “Thank You, Sugar” Press Kit

In April 2020, Worship Arts Ministry, which would normally be in
pre-production for our annual Easter Play, had to postpone production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our church home, Grace Bible Church of Central Florida, had closed back in March in order to ensure everyone’s safety.
With the updated Easter Playscript completed, our writing team was hungry for another project to create and our marketing director, Sharon Fields, recommended our writing team create a story that focused on the COVID-19 pandemic while sharing the hope of Christ in the midst of such a dark and fearsome time since millions of American families have been grappling with it for the last several months.
Thus, “Thank You, Sugar” was born.
